ACEC of Kansas President Jeff Hancock is inviting you to a lunch meeting on Thursday, August 1, 2019 from 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm in the Room 1107 Fiedler Hall at the Kansas State Engineering Complex, 1701 B Platt Street Manhattan, KS. All members statewide are invited to attend this and all membership lunches around the state!
This is where we discuss issues of concern to ACEC of Kansas and the engineering industry. The ACEC of Kansas Board, as always, is interested in getting feedback from you and this lunch affords that opportunity. We are honored to have Dr. Gary Clark, a Senior Associate Dean and Interim College Dean of the College of Engineering for Kansas State University, and Brian Johnson, City Engineer for the City of Manhattan.
Dr. Gary Clark will be presenting an update on the University Engineering Initiatives Act, enrollment history and future, and other topics related to introducing engineers to the market.
Brian Johnson will be presenting information related to the Levee Rehabilitation Project. This project will raise the elevation of the levee to provide protection to a 300 year flood event on both the Kansas River and Blue River. The project will also rebuild 5 gate well structures that were built with the original levee project in 1962.
